Warner, XL and Tucker Loughborough reclaimed clay roof tiles offer traditional character, with naturally weathered surfaces and variations in colour and shape. Our range includes handmade tiles with a relatively smooth finish, measuring approximately 11 × 7 inches. They provide options for matching existing roofs or bringing an established appearance to extensions and outbuildings.
Each name has its own manufacturing heritage. H. F. Warner operated the Star brick and tile works at Knowl Hill in Berkshire, documented in aerial photographs from 1931. XL was a tile brand produced by Itters Brick Co. Ltd of Hednesford, Staffordshire. Tucker’s ‘Loughborough’ handmade roofing tiles were manufactured by G. Tucker & Son Ltd, whose business was established in 1850.
Although similar in appearance and nominal size, tiles from different makers should be compared for profile, thickness and fixing details before being used together.
