Tudor roof tiles are traditionally handmade clay roof tiles manufactured in Kent by Tudor Roof Tile Co. Ltd, an established British manufacturer specialising in handmade plain and peg tiles.
Founded in 1986 in Ashford, Kent, Tudor moved to its present factory in Lydd on Romney Marsh in 1992, where it continues to produce its tiles using traditional hand-making techniques alongside modern kiln technology. The company has become one of Britain’s leading independent manufacturers of handmade clay roof tiles.
Each Tudor tile is individually formed, shaped and finished by hand before being fired in a modern kiln. This gives the tiles their characteristic variations in colour, texture, shape and thickness, creating the natural, slightly irregular appearance associated with traditional clay roofs.
Tudor tiles are particularly popular for period properties, restoration projects and new builds where an authentic traditional appearance is required. Their handmade character provides a more natural and varied finish than standard machine-made tiles, while benefiting from modern manufacturing and performance standards.
Tudor produce a wide range of traditional clay tiles in various colours and styles, including plain and Kent peg tiles, with bespoke sizes and fittings also available.
A well-established British-made roof tile combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing standards.
