Redland Stonewold Mk I roof tiles are large-format concrete interlocking tiles with a flat face and overlapping side channels. Their broad profile creates a uniform roof covering. A useful identifying feature is the thin hanging nib positioned close to the top edge on the underside, compared with the larger nib positioned further down on the Mk II. Our reclaimed examples are available in grey, brown, red and yellow, subject to stock.
Originally manufactured by Redland, the Mk I is an earlier Stonewold design, with replica replacements now produced by specialist manufacturer Repco. Redland began as the Redhill Tile Company in Surrey in 1919.
Reclaimed Stonewold Mk I tiles offer options for repairs and matching existing roofs. When choosing replacements, compare the hanging nib, dimensions and interlocks carefully, as Mk I and Mk II tiles should not be assumed to be interchangeable.
