Gaelic and Celtic clay pantiles have a distinctive flat pan and subtle single roll, creating a gentler roof profile than more deeply curved pantiles. Our reclaimed tiles offer naturally weathered character for repairs, restoration and extensions where matching an existing roof is important.
Historic Gaelic tiles were produced by Barton Tileries in Lincolnshire. John Williams & Co’s company history also records Gaelic tile production through its Humber-area tileries, following its move into clay tile manufacturing in 1931. Celtic tiles have also been manufactured by William Blyth.
When choosing reclaimed replacements, compare the dimensions, roll profile and overlaps, as tiles sold under these names may differ between manufacturers and batches.
