Dreadnought roof tiles are traditional British clay plain tiles, well known for their quality, durability and natural variation in colour. Suitable for both period properties and modern buildings, they are particularly popular for restoration work and for projects where an authentic traditional appearance is required.

Dreadnought has been manufacturing clay products in Pensnett, West Midlands, since 1805, making it one of Britain’s longest-established clay tile manufacturers. The company takes its name from the famous British battleship HMS Dreadnought, while the Davenhill family became involved in the business in 1902 and played a major role in its development.

Dreadnought tiles are produced using carefully controlled firing techniques which create their distinctive natural shades and subtle variations. This gives the tiles a characterful appearance that complements traditional British architecture and continues to mellow naturally with age.

With over two centuries of manufacturing heritage, Dreadnought remains a respected name in the British clay tile industry, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing techniques.
