Kent Peg Tiles are the most popular roofing tile in the South-East. These tiles were first introduced by the Romans, becoming the roofing tile of choice in the mid-1300s and still made to this day. Kent Peg Tiles were crafted in various forms with the two most popular being either universal or mixed size. Kent Peg Tiles were named due to the laying of each tile using wooden pegs; this practice has since been replaced with more modern methods. Available in the standard size of 10 inches by 6 inches, with variations up to 10.5 by 6.5 inches.
