Kent Peg Tiles are the most popular roofing tile in the South-East. These tiles were first introduced by the Romans, became the roofing tile of choice in the mid-1300s, and are still made to this day. Kent Peg Tiles were crafted in various forms with the two most popular being either universal or mixed in size. Kent Peg Tiles were named due to the laying of each tile using wooden pegs, although this practice has since been replaced with more modern methods. Available in the standard size 10 inches by 6 inches, with variations up to 10.5 by 6.5 inches.
